Sign up and create your school workspace
Open an Edunile account for your school in about five minutes. By the end you'll have your own school website address and a login as the school owner.
This guide takes you through opening a brand-new Edunile account for your school. When you're done you'll have your own school address on the internet — something like your-school.edunile.ng — and a login as the school owner that you can use to add staff, students, and everything else.
Steps
Go to the sign-up page
Open your browser and visit edunile.ng/sign-up. This page is only for school owners. Your administrators, teachers, and bursar will be invited later from inside your dashboard — they don't sign up separately here.
Enter your school's name and choose your address
Type in your school's full name (e.g. Springfield Academy) and pick a short address for it (e.g. springfield). This becomes the link your staff and parents will use to reach the dashboard — for example, springfield.edunile.ng.
Pick something short and easy to remember. If the name you want is already taken, try a small variation like adding your city (springfield-lagos) or your school's initials. You won't be able to change this later without starting a new account, so choose carefully.
Fill in your details as the school owner
Add your first name, last name, email address, and phone number. The email you use here becomes the owner's login — it has the highest level of access in your account, so use a personal email that only you control. Don't use a shared school inbox.
Choose a password
Pick a password that is at least 8 characters long and includes a capital letter, a number, and a special character like ! or ?. Type it again in the second field to confirm it matches.
Confirm your email
Click Create account. Within a minute or two, you'll receive an email from Edunile asking you to confirm your address. Open the email and click the link inside. Until you confirm, you won't be able to sign in.
Sign in and start setting up
After you click the link, you'll land on your school's sign-in page. Enter the same email and password you just chose. From here, Edunile walks you through a short setup wizard — eight quick steps that capture the basics about your school. The first thing it asks about is your academic session, which the next guide in this series covers in detail.
Common issues
- The confirmation email hasn't arrived
Give it 2–3 minutes — most emails arrive in under a minute, but some are slower. Then check your spam or junk folder for a message from Edunile. If it's still missing, look for a Resend confirmation link on the page, or visit edunile.ng/resend-confirmation to ask for a fresh one.
- The web address I want says it's taken
Some common words (like
app, admin, orwww) are reserved by Edunile and can't be used as school addresses. Try a variation that includes your city, your school's initials, or a hyphen — for example,mary-collegeinstead ofmary. If you believe the address you want belongs to a school that never went live, contact support and we'll help you sort it out.- I signed in but I see a 'School not found' page
Double-check that you've typed your school's address exactly the way you registered it — no extra
www.at the front and no spaces. If you just signed up, give it about five minutes for the new address to spread across the internet, then try again.- I forgot my password before I finished setting up
No problem. Visit edunile.ng/forgot-password, enter your owner email, and we'll send you a reset link. You'll be back in within a minute.
- I was signed out partway through setup
Edunile signs you out automatically after about an hour for safety. Just sign back in and pick up where you left off — your progress is saved.
